Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has escalated his political attacks against President William Ruto, claiming the Head of State has no meaningful development projects to showcase in the county.
Speaking during a public engagement in Trans-Nzoia, Natembeya said the President has avoided visiting the region because there is little to point to as tangible progress.
He argued that residents are still waiting for major government investments promised during the last election cycle.
The governor accused the national administration of sidelining the county in key infrastructure and economic programs.
According to him, roads remain incomplete, farmers are struggling with high production costs, and youth unemployment continues to rise.
Natembeya further claimed that instead of focusing on development, state agencies have been used to intimidate leaders who question the government.
He suggested that his arrest and legal troubles were politically driven and meant to silence him.
The remarks have intensified political tension between county leadership and the national government.
Trans-Nzoia has in recent months become a battleground for influence as leaders position themselves ahead of the next election cycle.
