Love Triangle: A Married Woman Invites Her Secret Lover to Have Fun at Night Before Being Murdered

Police in Bungoma County are investigating the killing of a 25-year-old woman after her husband surrendered and confessed to the crime, sparking renewed concern over rising domestic violence cases.

The victim, identified as Metrine Wandera, was found dead at her matrimonial home in the Khaoya area of Bungoma South.

Her husband, Fredrick Wasike, is accused of committing the act before fleeing the scene.

According to police reports, the suspect later surrendered at Busia Police Station, more than 100 kilometres from their home.

He reportedly confessed to killing his wife, claiming the incident followed a love triangle dispute that turned violent.

Officers then transferred him back to Bungoma for further investigations and court proceedings.

In his statement to police, the suspect alleged that he attacked his wife after finding her with another man in their matrimonial bed.

After the incident, he fled the area, fearing retaliation from members of the public.

Western regional police commander Issa Mohamud confirmed that detectives in Busia recorded the confession before handing the suspect over to officers in Bungoma County.

He added that an autopsy has been scheduled to help establish the exact cause of death as investigations continue.

Authorities have urged couples facing relationship challenges to seek peaceful ways of resolving disputes.

Police and community leaders warned that jealousy and unresolved marital conflicts continue to fuel deadly violence across the country, calling for dialogue and early intervention to prevent similar tragedies.
