"Ruto Is a Lethal Political Operator, Unity Is the Only Survival Strategy," Sifuna Warns Opposition

Edwin Sifuna has issued a blunt warning to opposition leaders, urging them to unite ahead of looming political battles. He cautioned that the challenges ahead are tough and demand a coordinated front.

Sifuna described William Ruto as an accomplished politician with deep strategic instincts. He said Ruto’s experience makes him a formidable opponent capable of outmaneuvering a divided opposition.

The embattled Orange Democratic Movement Secretary General stressed that, unity is no longer optional. He warned that disunity could hand Ruto an easy political advantage.

According to Sifuna, the opposition risks weakening itself by fielding multiple presidential candidates. He argued that such fragmentation only benefits the ruling side.

He referenced sentiments from the Linda Mwananchi movement leadership which he leads. The movement has consistently pushed for consolidation within opposition ranks.

Sifuna echoed their concerns, noting that Ruto is a “lethal operator” in political strategy. He said the president has the ability to neutralize threats before they fully form.

The Nairobi Senator insisted that opposition leaders must rethink their approach. He urged them to prioritize collective strength over individual ambition.

He warned that political egos could derail any meaningful challenge to the current administration. In his view, unity offers the only realistic path to competitiveness.

Sifuna further noted that past elections have shown the cost of division. He said history should guide current decisions.

He maintained that Kenyans expect a serious and organized alternative leadership. Fragmented efforts, he added, only erode public confidence.

The ODM official concluded by calling for urgent dialogue among opposition leaders. He emphasized that time is running out to build a united front.

His remarks now place pressure on key figures to align or risk political isolation. The coming months will test whether the opposition can overcome internal divisions.
