Political analyst Herman Manyora has claimed that Nyandarua Senator John Methu is seriously reaping from his recent attack on President William Ruto.
This follows Methu’s hard-hitting address during the requiem mass of the late Ol Kalou MP David Kiaraho Njuguna, where the senator openly criticised President William Ruto, daring him to do his worst.
Manyora says courtesy of the action, his influence is rapidly expanding beyond county politics and gaining traction across the wider Mount Kenya region.
Manyora has described Methu’s display of bravery as exceptional, singling out the moment the senator declared he did not fear the Head of State, which he says is a bold and rare stance.
In his view, that moment marked Methu’s transition from a local figure to a key player in Mount Kenya’s political landscape.
Manyora suggested that Methu could be among the emerging leaders poised to inherit influence in the region, especially if former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua exits active politics.
“The courage showcased by Senator John Methu in Nyandarua was unmatched. His boldness in telling William Ruto ‘mimi sikuogopi’ was on another level," the commentator is quoted by the People Daily.
"He has now grown beyond Nyandarua and has entered Mount Kenya politics. These are the people who will take the mantle from Rigathi Gachagua.”
He emphasized that Methu’s trajectory looks promising, provided he maintains his current momentum.
At the same time, Manyora criticised Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wa, arguing that despite his intelligence and communication skills, his political standing has declined due to unwavering support for President Ruto.
Methu’s speech drew strong reactions from mourners, earning applause even as his microphone reportedly cut out intermittently while he sharply rebuked the president and his allies.
During the same event, Gachagua likened Methu to the late JM Kariuki, portraying him as a revival of the former leader’s spirit.
Democracy for Citizens Party deputy leader Cleophas Malala likened the unfolding events to a dramatic production, casting Gachagua as the central figure and Methu as the standout performer.

Methu should not be praised for his uncouth behaviour. Did president WSRUTO ask or forced any one to fear him? So why did Methu diarrhea that he didn't fear president Ruto? What we need for our leaders is respect and not fear. Tuache banging!
