"Prepare For War" Riggy Allies Warns Ruto's Team Over Secret Plot To Take Money Meant For Mt Kenya

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has accused President William Ruto and his political allies of attempting to tighten their grip on Mount Kenya politics by targeting him politically and financially.

According to Gachagua, his supporters in the Mount Kenya region believe there is a wider plan to slash his budget by 25 percent, including reducing the allocation to the Office of the former Deputy President, a move they claim is meant to limit his ability to travel and engage with citizens across the country.

“This will mark a major fallout between us and the administration. We are warning the Budget and Appropriations Committee against taking that direction. We will also hold former committee chairperson Ndindi Nyoro responsible,” he said.

Gachagua’s allies further claimed they would tour the region informing residents that Nyoro was allegedly using his influence to politically undermine the former Deputy President.

Kirinyaga Senator Kamau Murango told The Standard that there is sufficient evidence pointing to a coordinated effort to weaken Gachagua by diverting budget allocations away from key agricultural programs in the Mount Kenya region.

Murango argued that the strategy is intended to place blame on Gachagua should farmers face challenges in the future.

He claimed that planned revisions to the 2025–2026 budget estimates are designed to cripple the former Deputy President politically and economically.

“The Mwea irrigation project aimed at eliminating snail infestation has already lost Sh70 million in funding, while coffee revitalization programs have been left out of the budget estimates entirely.

They know very well that Gachagua has been leading reforms in the agricultural sector, and farmers will hold him accountable,” Murango said.

He added that the move appeared calculated to damage Gachagua’s reputation among farmers and residents in the region.

Supporters of the former Deputy President have also questioned whether the omission of funds for coffee sector reforms in the budget projections is part of a broader political scheme aimed at frustrating him.
