Speaking during a rally in Bahati, Gachagua alleged that the CS is planning to resign from the government as the end of Ruto’s first term approaches, with intentions of seeking the Nakuru gubernatorial seat.
He cautioned him against returning back to seek the seat saying the community won't tolerate him. He also said that residents would not support a leader who serves in the current administration and later returns to ask for their votes.
According to Gachagua, the people of Nakuru are aware of political developments and cannot be easily swayed.
However, Kinyanjui has not publicly declared any intention to run for the governor position, which is currently held by Governor Susan Kihika.
During the address, Gachagua also led the crowd in chanting “Wantam,” reiterating his stance that President Ruto should not be given another term in office.
