Sifuna to Vie for Presidential Election, Member of Linda Mwanachi Camp Reveals

Bumula MP Jack Wamboka has revealed that the Linda Mwananchi camp will field Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna as its presidential candidate in the 2027 General Election.

Speaking during a funeral ceremony, Wamboka said their team is fully prepared to face President William Ruto at the ballot.

"Sifuna ataonana na Ruto kwa Debe 2027 macho kwa macho na tutakanyagana. Hii dunia haitakalika." Wamboka said.

This loosely translates to, " Sifuna will face Ruto head-on in 2027, eye to eye, and we will square it out. The country cannot continue the way it is."

He dismissed calls by some Western leaders urging Sifuna to support Ruto’s government and instead wait until 2032 to vie for the presidency, stating that their camp does not support such a move.

The remarks were made during the burial ceremony of Sifuna’s patriarch, Papa Mathias Sifuna Sifunjo, which the Nairobi Senator attended.

However, Sifuna has not officially declared his presidential bid for 2027. Previously, he indicated that he is open to forging alliances with other opposition leaders ahead of the next General Election.
