""Lazima Tukomeshe Hawa Wezi" Former CJ David Maraga Breaks Silence With This Message After Successful Rally In Ruto's Backyard

Former Chief Justice David Maraga has broken his silence with a strong message of appreciation following a successful voter registration drive held in Eldoret, an area widely regarded as President William Ruto’s political stronghold.

In his post on social media, Maraga thanked the people of Eldoret for turning out in large numbers to register as voters.

He emphasized the need to bring an end to the theft of public resources, stating that public wealth must no longer be treated as a personal bank account for a few individuals.

The former Chief Justice used the occasion to send a clear signal against corruption.

He stressed that public funds belong to all citizens and should not serve as an automatic teller machine for personal gain. The message was accompanied by images from the rally showing crowds of enthusiastic residents.

Maraga, who now leads the United Green Movement Party and has declared his interest in the 2027 presidential race, has been actively touring various parts of the country to mobilize citizens, particularly young people, to register as voters. His recent activities in regions such as Turkana and now Eldoret demonstrate an attempt to build support beyond traditional bases.

The development has drawn attention because it occurred in what is considered Ruto’s backyard. Political observers say Maraga’s presence and his firm stance on accountability could signal growing competition asked different leaders position themselves ahead of the next general election.

Maraga has consistently called on the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission to speed up voter registration efforts to accommodate the rising demand from citizens eager to participate in the democratic process.

His latest remarks have sparked discussions online, with many praising the push for integrity in the management of public resources.
