Iran Sends Clear Message To Kenya Over Ruto's Recent Remarks On Ongoing War With USA

The Iranian Embassy in Nairobi has dismissed claims that tensions in the Strait of Hormuz will trigger fuel price increases in Kenya. In a statement issued on March 27, the Embassy termed such reports as false and misleading propaganda.

The Embassy emphasized that there has been no closure of the vital shipping route, insisting that maritime traffic continues despite the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

It maintained that Iran remains committed to supporting lawful international trade while exercising its right to self-defence under international law.

According to the statement, claims linking the crisis to economic hardship in countries like Kenya are being driven by biased narratives.

The Embassy accused the United States and Israel of spreading misinformation to influence global opinion and shift blame.

The Strait of Hormuz is a key global oil route, handling about 21 per cent of the world’s supply. Iran noted that while the conflict has intensified, the passage remains open, although access is subject to wartime conditions and security measures set by Iranian authorities.

The remarks come amid growing diplomatic pressure on William Ruto, who recently condemned Iran’s actions, drawing mixed reactions internationally.
