Kindiki was addressing a delegation led by Meru Governor Isaac Mutuma, alongside 11 Members of Parliament and 67 Members of County Assembly, who had convened to discuss both political and development priorities for the county.
The meeting focused on strengthening the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party structures at the grassroots and accelerating key government projects in Meru.
In his address, Kindiki praised President Ruto’s leadership style, describing it as stable, inclusive, and focused on long-term national transformation.
He noted that his role as Deputy President has been guided by institutional respect and collective responsibility, dismissing narratives of internal rivalry or political insecurity within the executive.
The Deputy President emphasised that his focus remains on service delivery rather than political intrigue.
He highlighted ongoing government projects in Meru, including infrastructure development, healthcare expansion, affordable housing, and rural electrification, noting that these initiatives reflect the administration’s broader bottom-up economic agenda.
Kindiki also urged Meru leaders to prioritise unity and development over divisive politics.
He argued that political stability at both national and county levels is essential for attracting investment, creating jobs, and improving livelihoods.
President Ruto, in his remarks, reinforced Kindiki’s message, stating that his administration is anchored on teamwork and shared responsibility.
He praised the Deputy President for what he termed as “disciplined leadership and strong coordination” across government ministries and agencies.
Against this backdrop, DP Kithure Kindiki’s open declaration of trust in Ruto is seen as an attempt to project institutional harmony and political maturity.
The statement has also generated discussion within Mount Kenya and Eastern regions, where Kindiki commands significant influence.
