"Nitafanya Kazi Na Ruto Upende Usipende" Angry Governor Lectures ODM Senator

Vihiga Governor Wilber Ottichilo has strongly criticised Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi, accusing him of blocking development by openly attacking President William Ruto despite ODM joining the broad-based government.

Speaking on Tuesday during a public event in Vihiga County, Governor Ottichilo said he will continue working with President Ruto “whether Osotsi likes it or not.”

He said cooperation with the national government is the only way counties can get development and better services for their people.

The governor said he deserves respect as the elected leader of Vihiga and stressed that working with the President is not a choice but a responsibility.

He added that counties which keep fighting the national government risk being left behind in development projects.

“For our people to get development, we must support the President,” Ottichilo said. He explained that roads, hospitals, and other major projects depend on support from the national government.

His remarks come as Senator Osotsi continues to criticise President Ruto over what he says are unfulfilled promises to the Western Kenya region.

Osotsi has argued that despite ODM joining the government under the broad-based arrangement, many promises made by Ruto have not been delivered.

The senator has insisted that joining government should not stop leaders from speaking out when things are not working.

He has called on the President to honour his promises and show clear benefits to the people of Western Kenya.

However, Governor Ottichilo said constant attacks on the President are harmful and weaken the region’s chances of getting development.

He urged leaders to stop political fights and instead work together for the benefit of the people.

The public disagreement has revealed divisions among ODM leaders in Western Kenya over how to deal with President Ruto’s government as the broad-based government continues to take shape.
