Belgut MP Nelson Koech has come out expressed his views amid bid to withdraw Uhuru Kenyatta's retirement benefits.
Reports indicate that Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei has already filed a motion to withdraw Former President Uhuru Kenyatta's benefits and allowances.
Cherargei argued, in his motion, that Uhuru Kenyatta has contravened regulations by actively engaging in partisan politics since leaving office in 2022.
However MP Nelson Koech has differed strongly with the move to strip Uhuru Kenyatta of retirement benefits.
According to MP Koech, Uhuru should be left to enjoy his retirement perks in peace. He warned that people should do to others what they would like to be done to them.
"Wachana na hii maneno kidogo kidogo tunazungumza hapa. Mambo yenye haisaidi. Uhuru Kenyatta, if we were to deal with him, honestly, why would you want to, sasa mambo ya perks ya mtu ambayo Iko kwa Katiba, unasemaje itolewe.
Let us do to others what you want to be done to you. Wacha Uhuru aende na zake" Nelson Koech said.
The Belgut Legislator said that even though they are not in agreement with Uhuru Kenyatta, they should not go after his retirement benefits.
He termed the move to withdraw Uhuru's retirement benefits as petty before urging leaders to focus on delivering on their manifesto.
