Ndegwa Njiru Claims What Is Driving President Ruto and Allies to Attack Uhuru Kenyatta

Lawyer Ndegwa Njiru has claimed that the continued attacks on former President Uhuru Kenyatta by William Ruto and his allies are driven by a need to remain politically relevant.

Speaking amid rising political tensions, Njiru argued that the current leadership is shifting attention away from pressing national issues by constantly referencing the previous administration.

He suggested that the strategy is meant to control the political narrative as pressure mounts over governance and economic concerns.

Njiru further stated that the repeated criticism of Kenyatta appears calculated, especially as the country gradually begins to focus on the 2027 General Election.

According to him, invoking the former president keeps past political rivalries alive, which still influence sections of the electorate.

He added that such tactics point to deeper concerns within the ruling camp, including performance challenges and public perception.

Njiru insisted that relying on attacks against a retired leader signals a lack of fresh ideas and overdependence on past political battles.

The lawyer also defended Kenyatta, warning that dragging a former head of state into ongoing political disputes undermines leadership decorum.

He urged the government to prioritize delivering on its promises instead of engaging in prolonged political confrontations.
