President William Ruto has slammed individuals whom he said are trying to divide him from the people who put him in power.
Speaking on April 1, 2026, the President said he has a lot of work to do in Mount Kenya, adding that no one is going to separate him from the people who voted for him.
"I have heard people saying I must go. People are saying that I'm not going to get any votes from this region. We are going to present our work to the people of Kenya, and they will make that decision," President William Ruto said.
The President also called on Kenyans to work hand in hand with the government and slammed the opposition for allegedly attacking the government instead of selling their agenda to Kenyans.
He alleged that the opposition has been attacking and criticizing the government without acknowledging what he has been doing.
He made the statement a day after former President Uhuru Kenyatta opposed his re-election.
According to reports, the former President, who was speaking about the current political situation, called on the residents of Mount Kenya to avoid repeating the same mistake.
He slammed leaders whom he said have been engaging in insults instead of listening to the people.
