Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has announced that the Linda Mwananchi faction will hold a political rally in Eldoret town as part of its nationwide mobilisation efforts.
Speaking during an interview on Spice FM, the Senator confirmed that the group is planning to extend its campaigns to regions perceived to be strongholds of President William Ruto, including parts of the Rift Valley and Mt Kenya.
Sifuna revealed that the Linda Mwananchi team will tour several areas across the country, including Eldoret, Turkana and Mandera, in a bid to popularise their agenda and widen their political base.
At the same time, he urged Ruto’s supporters in Eldoret to refrain from attending or disrupting the rally if they do not support the faction’s position.
“If your are singing Tutam, just stay at home." Sifuna said.
He also defended the faction’s initial focus on touring ODM strongholds, explaining that the move was strategic in demonstrating their influence within the party amid growing internal divisions.
The developments come amid intensifying succession politics within the Orange Democratic Movement following the reduced day-to-day involvement of Raila Odinga in party affairs.
Sifuna has emerged as a key figure in the Linda Mwananchi faction, which has openly opposed sections of the party leadership over their perceived alignment with President Ruto ahead of the 2027 General Election.
