Joho Left Speechless as ODM Supporter at Linda Ground Rally Grabs Mic & Endorses Gachagua

An ODM supporter stunned Cabinet Secretary Ali Hassan Joho after unexpectedly grabbing the microphone during a Linda Ground rally and openly endorsing Rigathi Gachagua for president right before Joho and a huge crowd.

The dramatic moment happened on Sunday, April 26, during the ODM Youth Convention for the Coast Region in Malindi, Kilifi County.

What started as a normal political question quickly turned into an awkward scene that many at the rally may not forget anytime soon.

A speaker asked the crowd who they would rather support in 2027 between President William Ruto and his former deputy Rigathi Gachagua.

But before anyone expected it, one supporter confidently grabbed the microphone and shouted, “Gachagua!”

His answer instantly threw the crowd into confusion as people shouted back, trying to correct him. Joho appeared shocked and stood still for a moment, his face showing clear disbelief, before calmly taking back the microphone.

The video has since spread quickly online, with many Kenyans reacting strongly to the unexpected political twist.

The moment became even more talkworthy after claims emerged that the man had reportedly received money, a branded T-shirt and a cap to attend the rally.

Political commentator Pauline Njoroge reacted sharply, saying the incident showed growing frustration on the ground.

DCP deputy leader Cleophas Malalah also joined the conversation with a mocking response, saying leaders had arrived to control the ground without first understanding what people were truly thinking.

Online, Kenyans flooded social media with jokes, criticism and laughter. Some called it proof that crowds can be hired but opinions cannot be controlled, while others joked that Joho’s facial expression said everything.

Despite the embarrassing moment, ODM leaders maintained confidence, insisting the party remains strong and focused.

One mic. One answer. And one rally that turned into a political talking point far beyond Linda Ground.
