While questioning President Ruto's Affordable housing project during the interview, the former Deputy President did argue that the Government is not required to provide housing for its citizens and even termed it a private matter.
Reacting to Gachagua's remarks, Miguna has argued that the former Deputy President lacks the basic understanding of the Constitution.
"I heard him claim, ignorantly, that “the work of the government is not to provide housing for the people of Kenya because that is a private matter." Stated the vocal ODM politician in his statement.
According to Dr. Miguna Miguna, the former Deputy President has seemingly failed to understand that Housing just like Health Education and Food are basic and fundamental rights of every person.
While firing at the former Deputy President, Dr. Miguna Miguna has further alleged that Gachagua's remarks is proof that he is not qualified to lead the country as President.
Miguna has accused the former DP of lacking the basic understanding of the functions of the Government as per the constitution.
"Based on that statement alone, Gachagua is not qualified to be the president of the Republic of Kenya because he doesn’t understand the Basic functioning of the government." Added Dr. Miguna Miguna.
The statement by Miguna comes at a time when the political temperatures in the country have continued to heighten ahead of the 2027 General elections.
Miguna has been one of those who have even been calling for the removal of President Ruto from office and termed his leadership as a total failure.
