According to reports, Sifuna, who was speaking on March 27, 2026, slammed the Orange Democratic Movement party for allegedly betraying the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
He alleged that the party had gone against the principles of the late former Prime Minister, adding that Raila will never forgive President Ruto.
"The late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga is never going to forgive President William Ruto for what he has done to the party.
They have gone against the party's principles. Dr. Oburu Odinga should get his own Secretary General because after Raila, I can't serve as the Secretary General of a mediocre party," Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna said.
MP Peter Kaluma, who took to X (formerly Twitter) to speak on this, called on the senator to vacate the senate leadership position, terming his action as self-destruction.
Meanwhile, Dr. Oburu Odinga has maintained that ODM will remain in the broad-based government where Raila left.
He affirmed that the party is not going to chase anyone, but all members must be disciplined.
