Kenyans have been quick to react and poke holes into President William Ruto's recent decision, where he nominated Supreme Court Judge, Njoki Ngung'u for an ICC Post.
While the nomination comes as a form of promotion of the Judge to an international position, a section of Kenyans have termed the decision by the President as rather mischievous, and one that is ill motivated.
The nomination of Justice Njoki Ngung'u into the ICC Post will make her compete with six others Judges in an election that will be held later this year.
In their reaction to the nomination, a section of Kenyans have argued that President Ruto simply wants to create a vacant position within the Supreme court that can be filled with one of his ally.
Others have insisted that the decision by the President is rather selfish and one that is meant to prepare for the 2027 Election petition, where the President will be able to nominate a judge that can help him do his bid within the Apex Court.
"He is trying to create a vacant position for his former Lawyer Katwa Kigen. The goal is to get his man in Supreme court."
"It's done out of selfishness. He is trying to her rid of her."
"This is 2027 election petition preparedness. The schemes are not hard to hide."
"Another opportunity for him to nominate his own to the Supreme court."
