"I'll No Longer Attack Anyone In Public" Matiangi Declares Amidst Ruto's Attacks Targeting Him

Former Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi today made a strong declaration at a Jubilee Party event in Nyandarua, stating that he will no longer stand in public to attack any political leader, particularly those in government.

Speaking to party supporters, Matiangi emphasized that personal attacks are not part of Jubilee Party’s agenda and that the focus should remain on development and unity.

“I will not use public platforms to attack any leader. This is not what Jubilee stands for,” he said, highlighting the need for constructive engagement over political point-scoring.

Matiangi’s remarks come amidst a period of heightened political tension, with leaders from the opposition, including himself and Eugene Wamalwa, reportedly facing criticism and targeting from President William Ruto’s government.

Despite this, Matiangi urged party members to resist the temptation of retaliatory attacks, insisting that Jubilee’s priority should be national cohesion and service delivery.

He further called on supporters to engage in meaningful dialogue, stressing that political disagreements should not translate into personal attacks.

“Our mandate as leaders is to unite and serve Kenyans, not to fight each other in public,” Matiangi added, drawing applause from the audience.

Political analysts note that Matiangi’s statement signals a shift in Jubilee Party’s public messaging, suggesting a more conciliatory approach as Kenya approaches the next general elections.

By refraining from direct attacks on government leaders, Jubilee may be positioning itself as a party committed to constructive opposition rather than constant confrontation.

Matiangi concluded his speech by calling on all Jubilee members to maintain discipline and uphold the party’s values, reiterating that the party’s strength lies in unity and focus on national development rather than political rivalry.
