Ex Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has accused Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo of attempting to block his planned live media engagement with the Luo community on Ramogi TV and Ramogi FM.
He said the alleged interference is meant to silence his message and deny viewers access to his views.
He added that some officials are pressuring the Communications Authority of Kenya to disrupt the broadcast. He insisted that the Luo audience should freely listen and make their own decisions without outside influence.
Gachagua said the Luo community is intelligent and capable of examining issues presented to them and telling truth from falsehood. He warned against underestimating them or assuming control over their choices of media and information.
The former Deputy President made the remarks after announcing his scheduled appearance on Ramogi TV and Ramogi FM from seven in the evening to nine at night on Wednesday March twenty five twenty twenty six.
The session is expected to discuss national issues and recent political developments in the country.
The engagement is also seen as a move to counter recent political promises made by President William Ruto during his visit to the Luo region.
Analysts say the broadcast could influence voter opinions ahead of the next general election in twenty twenty seven.
Gachagua has in recent weeks accused Omollo of interfering with efforts to fight illicit alcohol and drug abuse in the country.
He claimed that progress was made during his time in office but said the current administration is reversing those gains.
Supporters of Omollo have rejected the claims and called them politically driven. They argue that such statements risk dividing the country and distracting from national unity and security matters.
The Communications Authority has not issued any statement about the alleged pressure to interfere with the broadcast. The situation has drawn attention from the public and political observers across the country.
The two hour program is expected to attract many viewers across Nyanza and other regions. It will give Gachagua a platform to explain his position and respond to critics on matters affecting governance and development.
His appearance is seen as part of growing political competition between leaders seeking influence ahead of the next election. Both government allies and opposition figures are stepping up efforts to connect with voters and shape public opinion through media engagements like this one.
