"We're Not Here To Count Terms" Big Blow to Ruto as Oburu Makes This Bold Announcement Sending Warning

ODM party leader Oburu Odinga has said the party is not in a hurry to declare whether it will serve for “one term” or “two terms.” Instead, ODM is focusing on strengthening its structures and preparing for negotiations with other political formations.

Speaking to supporters, Oburu explained that ODM’s priority is to build a strong and united party that can stand firm in talks with other groups.

He noted that the party will begin discussions with the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

If the two sides fail to agree, ODM will then reach out to other political formations.

Oburu stressed that ODM’s mission is not about rushing into timelines or limiting itself with numbers.

He said the party is guided by service to the people and the need to create meaningful partnerships that can move the country forward. “We are not here to count terms.

We are here to strengthen our party and negotiate for the good of Kenyans,” he stated.

His remarks come at a time when political alliances are becoming a key focus ahead of future elections. ODM’s position shows that it is ready to engage openly, while keeping its options flexible.

Supporters welcomed the statement, saying it reflects maturity and strategy. By starting with UDA and keeping the door open to others, ODM is showing that it values dialogue and unity over rigid promises.

With this approach, the party hopes to inspire confidence and demonstrate that its commitment is to Kenyans first, before political slogans.
