"We Used To Respect You But Now You're Doing Wrong" Western ODM Leaders Attacks Sifuna, Details

Busia County Orange Democratic Movement ODM party officials have publicly criticised the party’s Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, accusing him of failing to unite the party at a time when cohesion is needed most.

Speaking to the press on Saturday, the officials said that while they respect Sifuna’s position and role within the party, his recent conduct has instead deepened divisions rather than foster unity.

They claimed that persistent attacks on fellow party officials were weakening ODM’s internal structures and creating unnecessary friction across counties.

The Busia ODM leaders urged Sifuna to change his approach and focus on reconciliation, warning that continued public disagreements risk eroding the party’s support base.

They called on the secretary general to stop engaging in confrontational politics and instead work with party officials at both county and national levels.

In their statement, the officials asked Sifuna to fully support ODM party leader Oburu Odinga, whom they described as a unifying figure capable of strengthening the party.

They argued that Oburu’s leadership should be given space and respect to steer ODM towards renewed unity and growth.

“We respect the office of the secretary general, but unity must come first. Attacking fellow party members does not help ODM.

We want him to support Oburu Odinga so that the party can move forward as one,” one official said.

The Busia leaders further claimed that ODM has the potential to emerge stronger than ever if its top leadership works together.

They stressed that unity within the party would enhance its influence nationally and prepare it for future political contests.

Their remarks come amid growing internal debates within ODM, as leaders and supporters continue to express differing views on the party’s direction.

The officials concluded by appealing for dialogue and mutual respect, insisting that a united ODM remains vital to its supporters across the country.
