"Leave Natembeya Alone, You Were Also Sacked After Failing As Health CS" Nakhumicha Told Publicly

A member of Bunge la Mwananchi from Trans Nzoia County has strongly criticised former Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Nakhumicha following her recent remarks against Governor George Natembeya, accusing her of unfair attacks and political hypocrisy.

Speaking during a public forum in Kitale on Saturday, the activist faulted Nakhumicha for claiming that Governor Natembeya has failed to deliver on his development agenda, saying her statements were misleading and disrespectful to the people of Trans Nzoia.

The Bunge la Mwananchi member argued that Nakhumicha has no moral authority to lecture the governor on performance, noting that she herself was dismissed from the Cabinet over failure to effectively run the health docket.

“She should leave Governor Natembeya alone. The people of Trans Nzoia can see what their governor is doing on the ground,” the activist said.

“It is surprising for someone who was sacked for non-performance to accuse an elected leader who is working day and night for his people.”

The member went on to defend Natembeya’s record, citing improvements in healthcare services, road infrastructure, agricultural support programmes and efforts to fight corruption within the county government.

According to the activist, these initiatives have restored public confidence and improved service delivery across the county.

He further accused Nakhumicha of engaging in early political campaigns aimed at settling scores, instead of respecting the will of the electorate.

He warned national leaders against using Trans Nzoia as a battleground for personal or political interests.

“Governor Natembeya was elected by the people, and he should be judged by them, not by political rhetoric,” he added.

The remarks come amid rising political temperatures in the region, with leaders increasingly trading accusations over performance and governance.

Supporters of Natembeya have maintained that criticism from outsiders will not derail the governor’s development agenda, insisting that Trans Nzoia residents remain firmly behind their elected leadership.
