Busia Kenya Power and Lighting Manager Kennedy Sidera confirmed that the late engineer, identified as Kevin Onimbo, collapsed while at work before being rushed to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Speaking to the media, Sidera said the company was still waiting for the family to give more details regarding the cause of death.
He added that the firm could only confirm what happened at the workplace.
He said that some matters would be better addressed by the family, adding that the company could only confirm that the engineer collapsed outside the office and was rushed to hospital.
Colleagues described Onimbo as a dedicated engineer who carried out his duties with commitment.
