Deputy President Kithure Kindiki on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, met with 60 Kenya Kwanza Members of Parliament from the Mt. Kenya region at his Karen residence in Nairobi City County.
The meeting brought together legislators from across the Mt. Kenya region, including Embu, Meru, Tharaka Nithi, Murang'a, Nyeri, Nyandarua, Kiambu, Kirinyaga, Laikipia, and Nakuru Counties.
As well as representatives from Nairobi and Lamu Counties, to celebrate the recent by-election victory in Mbeere North Constituency.
During the gathering, Deputy President Kindiki thanked the MPs for their dedication, commitment, and teamwork.
That led to the election of Leo Wamuthende of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) as the new Mbeere North MP.
The by-election win has been seen as a significant boost for the ruling coalition in the Mt. Kenya region.
The meeting also served as a platform to review progress in the implementation of key development projects and programmes across the representatives' constituencies.
The leaders engaged in detailed discussions about ongoing initiatives and their impact on local communities.
The Deputy President and the MPs reached consensus on new mechanisms.
Aimed at fast-tracking the completion of projects currently underway in their respective areas, ensuring timely delivery of services to constituents.
The high-level meeting was attended by National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung'wah and Embu County Governor Cecily Mbarire, who also serves as the UDA Chairperson.
Their presence underscored the significance of the gathering in consolidating the party's position in the region.
The Mbeere North by-election victory is considered crucial for Kenya Kwanza's continued dominance in the Mt. Kenya region ahead of future political contests.
