Suba North Member of Parliament, Honourable Millie Odhiambo while speaking today on NTV's program Fixing the Nation, stated that Embakasi East Member of Parliament Honourable Paul Ongili popularly known as Babu Owino and the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party's Secretary General who is also the Nairobi Senator Honourable Edwin Sifuna, oppose the broad-based government due to the nature of their constituencies.
Honourable Millie explained that Nairobi being a cosmopolitan city, has majority of constituents who are pro-opposition.
Like many major cities worldwide, Nairobi traditionally leans towards the opposition. Therefore, for these two politicians to maintain their political survival in the capital, they must align with the sentiments of their constituents.
The Suba North MP expressed understanding of their opposition to the government recognizing that they are defending their own interests.
She emphasized that if they were to praise and support the broad-based government, they would risk losing favor with their voters.
