President William Ruto has reportedly intensified political tensions after publicly expressing dissatisfaction with some junior figures within his party.
According to insiders who spoke to The Standard on condition of anonymity, the President is unhappy with recent verbal confrontations involving leaders from both the Mount Kenya and Rift Valley regions and former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
The sources claim that he is closely monitoring the situation in his capacity as Head of State and may soon take formal action against individuals accused of fueling divisions between him and Gachagua.
Although his next move remains uncertain, the developments are being viewed as politically significant, with the potential to reshape Kenya’s political landscape if tensions continue to escalate.
This comes shortly after Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi told critics who feel intimidated by him to avoid engaging with him, remarks widely interpreted as a response to Gachagua’s earlier statements.
Sudi further defended his political activities, saying he is simply following the path set by President Ruto, whom he described as his mentor.
He added that his movements and public engagements, including attending various events and churches, are within his rights and that everyone is free to choose where to go.
He also suggested that his confidence and openness have unsettled some political opponents.
