"Ameua Raila, Akaua Gen Zs" Tuju’s Unverified Claims Against Ruto In Kisumu Spark Political Storm

Former Cabinet Secretary Raphael Tuju has triggered a fierce political backlash after leveling serious but unverified allegations against President William Ruto during a heated address in Kisumu.

Speaking at a charged political rally, Tuju accused the President of involvement in the death of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, the killings of young Gen Z protesters, and the unlawful acquisition of agricultural land and a major company in Muhoroni. He offered no evidence or documentation to support the claims.

“He has killed Raila Odinga, he has killed Gen Z protesters, and he has stolen farms and the Muhoroni company,” Tuju was quoted as saying in translated remarks.

The allegations have since gone viral, drawing sharp reactions across the political divide. Tuju’s supporters defend his right to voice political concerns, while government allies have condemned the statements as reckless and inflammatory, warning they could damage national cohesion.

Political analysts say the speech underscores deepening divisions within Kenya’s political landscape, with rhetoric turning increasingly confrontational ahead of anticipated elections and realignments.

They caution that such unchecked accusations could further polarize the electorate and erode public trust in institutions.

Allies of President Ruto have dismissed the claims as politically motivated propaganda aimed at discrediting the administration, insisting that any grievances should be addressed through legal frameworks rather than public rallies.

With calls mounting for leaders to exercise restraint, the controversy is expected to dominate political discourse in the coming days.

  1. I think we need to formulate laws to curb the spread of false or unverified accusations. Anyone accusing another of wrong doing, must table evidence or be prosecuted for damaging the dignity of an innocent person.
