"Uhuru Is The Chief Financier Of United Opposition" UDA SG Says, Warns This Ahead Of 2027

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has intensified its political attacks against the opposition after the party’s Secretary General alleged that former President Uhuru Kenyatta is the key financier behind the emerging united opposition movement.

Speaking during a public event in Kakamega on Saturday, the UDA SG claimed that Kenyatta is working behind the scenes to influence the 2027 General Election.

According to the ruling party official, the former Head of State is supporting a coalition of opposition leaders with the aim of regaining political control through his close allies.

The SG further alleged that the former president’s interest in the opposition is driven by a desire to see leaders loyal to him ascend to power, thereby restoring his family’s political influence.

However, he maintained that such efforts would not succeed, insisting that UDA remains firmly focused on securing President William Ruto’s re-election.

“We are aware of the schemes being orchestrated to destabilise the government and mislead Kenyans,” the SG said.

“But we want to assure our supporters that we will not allow a return to the past. We will fight politically and democratically to ensure President Ruto continues to serve this country.”

The remarks come amid growing political realignments and increased activity among opposition figures seeking to form a united front ahead of the next election cycle.

Analysts say the claims could further heighten political tensions as both sides position themselves early for 2027.

Efforts to reach allies of former President Kenyatta for comment were unsuccessful by the time of publication.

The latest accusations signal the beginning of what is expected to be a heated political contest, with both the ruling party and opposition sharpening their strategies in the race for State House.
