"Ruto Sacked Everyone Including Cleaners In My Office After My Impeachment" Gachagua Claims

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has once again criticized President William Ruto, claiming that the actions taken following his impeachment from the deputy presidency were unjust.

Speaking during a media engagement on Friday, Gachagua stated that after his removal from office, the government went beyond targeting him, reportedly sacking all staff who served in the Office of the Deputy President.

He named cleaners, cooks, and watchmen among those who lost their jobs, describing the decision as “unfair” and politically motivated.

“The people who worked under me were hardworking civil servants. They were loyal and had no involvement in political disputes. Yet, they were removed without cause. This is not how public service should be treated,” Gachagua said.

He added that such measures not only punished innocent employees but also disrupted service delivery in the office, undermining administrative efficiency.

According to Gachagua, the decision was part of a pattern to consolidate power and intimidate those perceived as loyal to him.

The former deputy president also reiterated his earlier statements concerning his late brother Nderitu Gachagua’s estate, stressing that attempts to involve President Ruto in family matters are politically motivated.

He warned against exploiting family issues for political advantage, urging unity and legal adherence among family members.

Gachagua’s remarks come amid ongoing political tensions between him and President Ruto, with both leaders trading accusations over loyalty, governance, and regional influence.

Efforts to obtain a comment from State House regarding Gachagua’s claims were unsuccessful by the time of publication.

This latest criticism highlights lingering resentment from Gachagua over decisions taken after his impeachment and raises questions about how political transitions in high offices impact ordinary staff within government institutions.
