"Orengo ni Wantam” Atandi Hits at Orengo After Skipping Ruto's Rally in His County

Siaya County politics took a sharp turn after Alego Usonga MP Sam Atandi launched a scathing attack on Governor James Orengo for opposing President William Ruto’s reelection.

Speaking during a gathering in Yala, Atandi accused the governor of failing to deliver on his mandate, urging residents to vote him out in the 2027 general election.

He claimed that Siaya needs new leadership, alleging that Orengo has not made meaningful progress in improving the livelihoods of locals.

The MP further highlighted challenges facing the county’s health sector, pointing to an ongoing nurses’ strike in Siaya Town as evidence of poor leadership.

He directly informed President Ruto of the situation, blaming the county administration for the crisis.

Atandi also dismissed Orengo’s political stance of aligning the region with the opposition linked to DCP Party Leader Rigathi Gachagua.

He reaffirmed that leaders in the area will continue supporting the broad-based government, distancing themselves from the opposition movement.

The remarks come after Orengo skipped the rally attended by several key leaders, including ODM Chairperson Gladys Wanga and National Assembly Minority Leader Junet Mohammed, among others.
