Nairobi: Drama As Top Government Officer Brutally Murders His Wife In Kasarani Home

Residents of Roysambu in Nairobi are in shock after a senior officer attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations was accused of killing his wife inside their one-bedroom house along Lumumba Drive.

Police said Inspector Daniel Muru Masharia, who works at the DCI headquarters along Kiambu Road, allegedly stabbed his wife several times on Sunday before fleeing the scene.

He reportedly switched off his mobile phone and has not been traced. Detectives have launched a manhunt for the officer, who remains at large.

Neighbours said they became suspicious after sensing a strange smell from the house.

One witness recalled the moment of discovery and said it may have been the smell that alerted them.

The witness said they screamed after opening the door and finding her lying motionless inside the house.

According to the family, the couple had been married for 13 years.

The deceased was last seen entering the house with the suspect on Thursday before the incident.

A relative said the officer had been unwell for about a year and that his wife stood by him during that time.

The relative said he had been sick for a whole year and that she provided everything for him and never gave up on him.

Police uniforms and other items believed to belong to the suspect were found inside the house.

Claims have also emerged suggesting he could be receiving protection to avoid arrest, though authorities have not confirmed this.

The killing adds to growing concern over rising cases of domestic violence involving law enforcement officers in Kenya.

Investigations are ongoing as police urge anyone with information on the suspect’s whereabouts to report to the nearest station.
