MP Kibangendi Alleges Top Government Official Who Ordered Wetangula To Suspend Him From Parliament

A fresh political storm is brewing after Kitutu Chache South MP Anthony Kibagendi intensified his attack on National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula, accusing him of ignoring a court order that lifted his suspension.

The dispute follows a High Court decision that halted the Speaker’s move to lock Kibagendi out of Parliament. The court directed that the legislator be allowed back to carry out his duties as the case continues.

Despite this, Kibagendi now claims that the suspension was enforced under political influence. He has pointed fingers at President William Ruto, alleging that the Executive played a role in how Parliament handled his case.

His remarks have sparked strong reactions across the political divide. Among those who have spoken out is Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, who has come out firmly in support of Kibagendi.

Sifuna has questioned the actions taken by the Speaker, arguing that court orders must be respected by all arms of government. He warned that failure to follow judicial directives weakens the rule of law and creates a dangerous precedent.
