In a recent interview, the outspoken politician revealed that before entering Kenya’s political scene, she had built a life abroad with her husband.
Their relationship grew over time and eventually led to marriage. The couple also welcomed a son together and spent several years living outside the country while raising their family.
However, Orwoba said her long-standing desire to return home and take part in Kenyan politics began to create tension in the relationship.
By 2022, she felt ready to pursue that ambition and relocate back to Kenya. According to her, the decision was not supported by her husband, who preferred that they continue living abroad.
Despite the disagreement, Orwoba chose to follow her aspirations. She recalled that after years of discussions and internal struggle, she decided to return to Kenya with their child and begin her political journey. The move ultimately brought an end to their marriage.
While the split marked a major turning point in her life, Orwoba insists there is no bad blood between her and her former partner. She describes the separation as part of life’s natural changes, noting that people sometimes grow in different directions.
She has also addressed public curiosity surrounding the identity of her ex-husband. Although speculation has circulated online, Orwoba has intentionally kept his name and personal details private. According to her, protecting his privacy is important since he is not a public figure.
Interestingly, she has also chosen not to delete photos of him from her social media pages. For Orwoba, those memories remain part of her personal history and represent a chapter of her life she does not wish to erase.
Today, the two continue to co-parent their son peacefully, focusing on maintaining a respectful relationship despite going their separate ways.
