"He's Trying To Weaken Me" Gachagua Reacts After His Brother's Family Sent Letter To Ruto Over This

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has dismissed claims that the family of his late brother, Nderitu Gachagua, is seeking President William Ruto’s intervention over alleged lost property, terming the reports as misleading and politically motivated.

Speaking during a media engagement on Friday, Gachagua said the matter regarding his late brother’s estate was conclusively settled in court in 2018. He insisted that there is no ongoing dispute requiring external intervention, especially from the Head of State.

Gachagua accused President Ruto of attempting to exploit family divisions for political gain.

He claimed that the President recently met a section of extended family members and is now using the issue to undermine his influence, particularly in the Mt Kenya region.

“The issue of my brother’s property was resolved legally years ago. There is nothing new. The President is not a member of our family and should not interfere in matters that do not concern him,” Gachagua stated.

He further alleged that the move is part of a broader scheme to weaken his political standing by creating the impression of unresolved family conflicts. According to him, such tactics are aimed at eroding public trust and shifting attention from national issues.

Gachagua urged his family members to remain united and avoid being drawn into political battles. He emphasized that any grievances should be handled internally and within the framework of the law.

The former deputy president’s remarks come amid growing political tension between him and President Ruto, with both leaders appearing to differ on key national and regional matters.
