"Anajua Hakuna Mahali Wanaenda" Waiguru Reacts Amid Report Of Aligning With Malala To Fight Gachagua

Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has responded to claims linking her allies to an alleged plan to divide the Democratic Citizens Party (DCP).

The issue emerged after Kirinyaga Woman Representative Njeri Maina accused DCP deputy leader Cleophas Malala of holding a secret meeting with leaders connected to the governor.

The allegations quickly sparked debate in Kirinyaga and other political circles. Maina claimed the meeting involved several Members of County Assembly from Kirinyaga County and was aimed at forming a splinter group to weaken the influence of DCP party leader Rigathi Gachagua.

However, Waiguru dismissed the claims and suggested that the accusations were meant to create unnecessary political tension. She stated that the leaders making the claims were aware that their political plans had little support on the ground.

The governor maintained that Kirinyaga residents are focused on development and service delivery rather than internal political fights. She added that leaders should avoid spreading claims that may divide communities or distract from ongoing county projects.

Waiguru also pointed out that many political rumours often surface as the country moves closer to the 2027 elections.

According to her, such claims are sometimes used to gain attention or shape public perception, even when there is no clear evidence to support them.

The governor insisted that her administration remains committed to development programs in Kirinyaga. She said the county government continues to focus on improving infrastructure, agriculture, health services and youth opportunities.
