“Yote Yawezekana Bila Ruto”: Kenyans Break Into Anti-Government Chants After Oketch Salah’s Event

Tension and political expression filled the air outside the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) after attendees of a planned event linked to activist Oketch Salah were heard chanting anti-government slogans as they exited the venue.

In videos circulating online, groups of young people are seen and heard singing the phrase “Yote yawezekana bila Ruto,” loosely translating to “Everything is possible without Ruto.”

The chants appeared to be a spontaneous expression of political frustration as crowds dispersed from the event.

Witnesses said the atmosphere outside KICC grew charged as participants gathered in small groups, voicing their opinions through songs and slogans.

Security officers monitored the situation from a distance to ensure order as the crowd slowly cleared from the premises.

The incident quickly drew attention on social media, where Kenyans shared mixed reactions.

Some viewed the chants as a reflection of growing political discontent among the youth, while others criticized the public display as disruptive.

No arrests or confrontations were reported, and the situation remained largely peaceful as people left the area.

The event has since sparked conversations online about freedom of expression and the current political mood in the country.
