DCP Party leader Rigathi Gachagua and his team have continued with countrywide rallies aimed at popularising their political outfit and consolidating opposition support ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Speaking during a rally in Naivasha, Gachagua was joined by Nyandarua Senator John Methu, who fired up the crowd with chants opposing President William Ruto’s administration.
Methu told the gathering that opposition leaders were working towards settling on a single presidential candidate to challenge Ruto.
He then asked the crowd whether they would support either Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Jubilee Candidate Fred Matiang'i' if any emerged as the opposition flag bearer.
In response, the crowd loudly agreed, vowing to back whichever candidate the opposition settles on.
In a lighter moment, the Senator posed a joking question, asking what would happen if President Ruto were to run against a goat. The crowd responded with laughter, shouting that they would vote for the goat instead.
The unexpected response left Methu in wondering, with other leaders on the podium also laughing.
He noted that not a single person in the crowd indicated they would support President Ruto even with a goat as an opponent.
Earlier, during a public engagement in Kinamba, Naivasha Constituency, Nakuru County, Gachagua accused President Ruto of repeatedly suggesting that his opponents lack intelligence.
Gachagua said many Kenyans once believed in the President’s promises but have since become disillusioned, arguing that campaign pledges have failed to translate into meaningful change for ordinary citizens.
He concluded noting that the final say would be delivered at the ballot box when votes are counted.
