"Sifuna's Team Is Lucky To Have Orengo In Their Side For This Reason" Political Analyst

Political analyst Ikua wa Mbote has weighed in on the growing rift within the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), praising Siaya Governor James Orengo for standing with leaders opposed to President William Ruto’s administration.

Speaking a day after a section of ODM leaders stormed Kitengela and drew a massive crowd, Ikua said experience remains a key pillar in politics.

The rally, led by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino and Governor Orengo, attracted thousands of supporters who turned up in large numbers.

What an old man can see while seated, a young boy cannot see even from the top of a tree. Sifuna and his team are lucky to have Orengo on their side.

They can sit down and listen to his advice and words of wisdom clearly and confidently,” Ikua said.

His remarks come amid sharp divisions within ODM over whether to support President Ruto’s broad-based government.

While some party leaders have backed cooperation with the Head of State, others have maintained a firm stand against joining hands with the Kenya Kwanza administration.

Ikua described Orengo as a seasoned politician with deep knowledge of the country’s political history.
He noted that the governor’s experience in Parliament and his long involvement in reform politics make him a strong pillar for leaders charting a different path within the party.

The Kitengela rally turned into a show of strength as chants filled the air and supporters expressed solidarity with Sifuna and his team. The leaders reiterated their position, saying they would not abandon the principles that ODM has stood for over the years.

As internal debates continue, analysts say the coming weeks will be critical in shaping the party’s direction and unity ahead of future political contests.
