Junet Mohamed has publicly confronted Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka over contested leadership changes within the Azimio coalition.
The Suna East MP took to X where he accused Kalonzo of failing to follow the coalition agreement lodged with the registrar of political parties.
Junet said the agreement is binding and clearly sets out how leadership changes should be handled.
He stressed that the document was carefully negotiated when Azimio was formed and cannot be altered through personal decisions or informal meetings.
He further accused Kalonzo of acting out of self interest and shifting his position to suit personal goals. Junet reminded him that he had earlier declared Azimio dead.
He questioned why Kalonzo was now seeking to revive the coalition for his own benefit.
The dispute followed a February 2 2026 meeting of the Azimio council chaired by former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
During the meeting Kalonzo was named party leader following the death of Raila Odinga in October 2025.
The council also replaced Junet with Caroli Omondi as secretary general and appointed Philip Kisia as executive director.
Uhuru said the changes were aimed at strengthening leadership ahead of future political contests.
