Ruto’s MP Predicts The Exact Month, Year Sifuna Will Officially Exit ODM Amid Push for 2027 Coalition

David Kiplagat, the Member of Parliament for Soy, has predicted a major political shift, stating that Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna will exit the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) by March 27, 2026.

Speaking on Wednesday, February 25, during an interview with MorningCafeTV47, Kiplagat emphasized the importance of forming strategic alliances ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“At the end of the day, we must build a coalition that will carry us through 2027. We support president William Ruto’s vision to build a winning alliance,” Kiplagat remarked.

The MP underscored that the coming year will be critical for consolidating political partnerships and ensuring a strong, united front.

Kiplagat’s remarks come amid ongoing speculation about Sifuna’s political trajectory. The Nairobi Senator, known for his role in ODM, has been a prominent opposition figure, but internal party dynamics and upcoming elections appear to be reshaping allegiances.

Analysts suggest that such shifts could influence both party structures and voter sentiment ahead of the next election cycle.

Political observers note that Kiplagat’s endorsement of President William Ruto’s coalition signals a broader trend of realignment, as leaders evaluate the most viable path to influence and governance.

The Soy MP insisted that building a coalition is not just a strategy but a necessity to navigate the complexities of Kenya’s political landscape.

As the March 27 deadline approaches, all eyes will be on Sifuna’s decisions and the ripple effects they may have on ODM and the wider opposition. Meanwhile, Ruto’s coalition efforts continue to attract attention, with leaders like Kiplagat positioning themselves as key players in shaping the next political chapter.
