"Ruto Is Panicking Because Azimio Is Showing Signs of Political Comeback," - Analyst

A political debate is growing after analyst Prof. Fred Ogola shared his views on the changing political situation in the country.

His remarks come at a time when talks, alliances, and possible realignments are shaping conversations within major political parties.

Speaking during a public discussion, Prof. Ogola suggested that the renewed activity within the Azimio coalition is causing concern within the ruling side.

According to him, signs that the opposition coalition is reorganising and regaining energy have changed the political mood.

He explained that the situation becomes more complicated when discussions about possible cooperation between the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) arise.

The analyst noted that ODM is still officially part of the Azimio coalition, and any formal partnership with UDA would require the party to first exit the coalition.

“That process is not simple,” he observed, adding that such a move would require internal approval and careful political planning.

Prof. Ogola also predicted that ODM’s upcoming National Delegates Convention (NDC) could be tense and highly contested.

He said party members are likely to hold different opinions about the party’s future direction, especially on whether to maintain its position in Azimio or consider new political arrangements.

According to him, strong disagreements among delegates could make it difficult for the party to reach clear decisions during the meeting.

The anticipated convention is already attracting attention from political observers, as its outcome could influence the broader political landscape.

Many leaders and supporters are expected to closely watch the discussions, knowing that any major decision could affect future alliances.

In recent months, political leaders across different camps have been holding consultations, fuelling speculation about possible cooperation or competition ahead of the next election cycle.

Analysts say the current environment shows that coalition politics remains a key factor in Kenya’s leadership structure.

Parties are being forced to balance loyalty, strategy, and public opinion as they plan their next moves.
