RIP: Photos Of Kisumu Brothers Who Drowned While Swimming In Open Quarry, Family Speaks

A family in Kisumu Central is mourning the untimely death of 4 siblings who died while swimming in open quarry.

According to reports, the deceased were swimming before the youngest drowned. Three others drowned while trying to rescue their brother.

Their bodies were recovered on February 8, 2026, with the help of the residents and the police who were called to the scene.

They were taken to the mortuary pending autopsy and other procedures.

Police called on residents with any information that might assist in the ongoing investigations to come forward and also remain calm as investigations continue.

The mother revealed that she left them studying before being informed about the tragedy.

She called on the government to help with the burial expenses.

Residents of Kanyakwar village called on the police to conduct their investigations in order to establish what happened prior to the tragedy.

They alleged that tractors were removed after the tragedy.

The deceased were between 5 and 8 years old.

Lilian Ochieng, who lost her two kids in a similar incident, called on the government to take action against suspects whom they said have been leaving open quarries.

She revealed that while some of the children die while swimming, others slip into these quarries.
