Nelson Havi has asked his supporters and the public to refrain from sending messages expressing dissatisfaction or unsolicited advice regarding his decision to join the Democratic for the Citizens Party (DCP).
In a statement shared, Havi said he respects the opinions of his followers but wants discussions to remain respectful and constructive.
“Please, do not spam my WhatsApp DM with advice or dissatisfaction with my choice to join DCP,” he stated.
Havi explained that his decision to align with DCP, led by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, was carefully considered and reflects his vision for issue-based politics and grassroots engagement.
He emphasized that party affiliation is a personal political decision that should not be subject to online harassment or pressure.
Political analysts note that leaders often face criticism and advice from supporters when making party changes, especially ahead of major elections.
They say managing public communication effectively is important to maintaining focus and ensuring clarity of political messaging.
Havi also urged Kenyans to respect individual political choices while continuing to engage in democratic discourse.
He reiterated that his main priority is to serve his constituents and contribute to meaningful political participation.
The aspirant’s request comes as the 2027 elections approach, with many politicians repositioning themselves within different parties and coalitions in anticipation of the polls.
