According to witnesses, the incident happened at the station located in Kanduyi Constituency when a cobra that had earlier been seized by police suddenly came out of a container where it had been kept.
The snake had reportedly been confiscated from a local preacher and one of his followers who were transporting it on a motorcycle within Bungoma town.
Police sources said the two suspects had been stopped by officers during a routine patrol.
Upon inspection, the officers discovered that the pair were carrying a live cobra inside a container.
The preacher and his follower were immediately arrested and taken to the station for questioning, while the snake was also secured as evidence.
However, drama unfolded shortly after their arrival at the station.
