Group of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leaders allied to Secretary General Edwin Sifuna has announced a new political mobilisation campaign known as the “Linda Mwananchi Tour.”
The initiative is expected to strengthen grassroots engagement and increase political awareness among citizens as the party continues to shape its direction.
The leaders confirmed that the tour will officially begin in Busia Town on Sunday, February 8.
The event is expected to attract ODM lawmakers, party officials, political commentators, and supporters from across the region.
Organisers say the campaign aims to bring party leaders closer to wananchi and provide a platform for discussing governance, development, and national political issues.
The “Linda Mwananchi” tour is designed to focus on public participation and direct engagement with communities.
Leaders involved in the campaign have said the initiative will allow citizens to raise concerns about governance, service delivery, and economic challenges affecting their daily lives.
The organisers believe that listening to the public will help ODM leaders better understand the needs of ordinary Kenyans.
Several prominent ODM senators are expected to attend the Busia launch. Among them are Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, Kisii Senator Richard Onyonka, Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi, and Nyamira Senator Erick Okong’o Mogeni.
The leaders are expected to address residents during rallies and public forums, where they will share their views on governance and political developments in the country.
Political analysts have also been invited to participate in the tour’s discussions. Their presence is expected to provide deeper analysis of national issues and encourage informed political conversations among citizens.
Observers say such tours often play a major role in shaping party strength at the grassroots level and building political momentum.
The launch of the mobilisation drive comes at a time when ODM is experiencing internal discussions about its political direction and relationship with other political parties.
Some analysts believe the “Linda Mwananchi Tour” could help leaders allied to Sifuna strengthen their political influence within the party while reconnecting with supporters.
