Daylight Drama As Police Disperse Kisii National Polytechnic Students Who Attempted to Do This To The United Opposition Convoy

Police in Kisii dispersed a group of students from Kisii National Polytechnic who reportedly attempted to block a convoy belonging to the United Opposition at Daraja Moja as it headed toward Kisii town. The incident occurred on the same day as an opposition rally in the area.

According to witnesses, the students gathered along the road and allegedly tried to obstruct the convoy’s movement. Police officers were deployed to the scene and intervened to clear the road.

It was not immediately clear whether there were any injuries or arrests following the confrontation. Authorities had not issued an official statement at the time of reporting.

The disruption came just hours after a separate group of individuals reportedly attempted to interfere with the opposition rally earlier in the day.

Details about that earlier incident remained limited, but sources indicated there were efforts to interrupt the event before it proceeded.

Security personnel were seen maintaining a presence in parts of Kisii town to prevent further disturbances and to ensure the convoy could proceed without additional obstruction.

The motive behind the attempts to block the convoy was not immediately established.

The United Opposition had planned activities in Kisii as part of its ongoing engagements in the region.

Organizers had earlier indicated that the rally would bring together supporters and local leaders.

Photos from the scene, taken by Sammy Omingo, showed police officers confronting the group near Daraja Moja as tensions unfolded.

The situation was reportedly brought under control after police dispersed those gathered along the road.
