Influencer Naomi Kuria has revealed that her use of bhang cost her a lucrative Ksh 600,000 influencing deal, describing the experience as a major setback in her career.
Speaking during an interview with Oga Obinna, Naomi admitted that quitting bhang was extremely challenging and that the habit negatively affected her motivation and productivity.
She explained that during that period, she became unusually lazy and unmotivated, spending most of her time resting on the sofa instead of focusing on her work commitments.
Naomi recounted that the brand she was working with requested her to redo a promotional video after the initial content failed to meet their expectations.
However, she was unable to deliver the revised video on time due to her lack of drive and discipline.
As a result, the brand decided to terminate the contract, leading to the loss of the Ksh 600,000 deal.
In addition to affecting her work, Naomi shared that bhang also had a negative impact on her mental clarity.
She said it interfered with her memory and speech, often causing her to forget simple English words and struggle to express herself clearly during conversations.
Reflecting on the incident, Naomi described the loss as a wake-up call. She noted that the experience forced her to reassess her lifestyle choices and commit to personal growth, discipline, and professionalism in her career as an influencer.
