"You Have Until Tomorrow, Bring Yourself to Court or Withdraw the Case" Activist's Message to Ruto

A political storm erupted online on Tuesday after a video and multiple posts allegedly featuring activist Nuru Okanga began circulating widely across Kenyan social media.

In the clip, whose authenticity has not been independently verified, Okanga appears to issue a bold ultimatum directed at President William Ruto.

The viral message reads: “Ruto, I’ve given you until tomorrow  either bring yourself to court or withdraw that case. Stop bothering me. I have many things to do, even more than you.”

Reactions have been mixed, with supporters applauding Okanga’s fearless stance, while critics condemned the confrontational tone.

Political analysts say the incident highlights the growing intensity of online political discourse in Kenya, where activists and public figures often engage in direct and heated exchanges.

Legal experts warn that, if verified, such remarks could attract scrutiny, especially when aimed at a sitting president.

Okanga emphasized that since the day of his arrest, he has never seen the complainant in person.

He questioned how a citizen could be dragged through the legal system while the accuser remains absent.

The activist challenged President Ruto to appear in court personally, insisting that the president should face him directly rather than rely on State machinery.

He stressed that the Constitution and the law apply to everyone, including the head of state.

Okanga further stated that no citizen should be silenced or intimidated, and that the rights of ordinary Kenyans must not be trampled.

He urged Ruto to either present himself in court or withdraw the case, asserting that Kenya is not a dictatorship.

As the video continues to circulate, discussions about freedom of speech, accountability, and the rule of law are dominating social media.

Kenyans are now awaiting clarification from both President Ruto and Nuru Okanga regarding the authenticity and context of the viral clip.
